Partnership Strategy
How does Unseen choose its partners?
Unseen looks for leaders and organizations who are working with integrity, pursuing sustainable growth, and fighting trafficking or its root causes. The application process is thorough to ensure Unseen is coming alongside the right groups—ones Unseen can serve well and who are positioned to grow.
Once accepted, partners get access to our tools, team, and training at no cost.
Unseen’s partners focus on five critical aspects:
- Root Causes: Understanding and mitigating factors that make individuals vulnerable to trafficking.
- Prevention: Implementing programs to thwart traffickers' recruitment efforts such as facilitating vocational training, job creation, educational opportunities, and small-business support to promote sustainable livelihoods. Partners also provide food, shelter, hygiene kits, and medical care to alleviate immediate suffering and prevent exploitation to address basic necessities
- Protection/Aftercare: Providing comprehensive care, including rescue operations, safe shelters, medical care, psychological counseling, substance abuse assistance, and repatriation support to aid long-term healing and reintegration.
- Prosecution: Collaborating with legal systems to arrest and convict traffickers, thereby weakening the infrastructure that supports trafficking.
- Legislation and Prosecution Assistance: Advocating for legislative changes that enhance protections for vulnerable populations and deter exploitative practices. Working with law enforcement and judicial systems to prosecute traffickers and train personnel on victim identification and care.
