Anna’s Celebration of Healing

Anna* Successfully Moved from Emergency Housing to Long-Term Program

When Anna* first arrived at our Emergency House, she was quiet, reserved, and hesitant to engage. She was understandably carrying the weight of deep trauma and survival.

Over time, with consistent love and support from our staff, she began to open up. She leaned into the program, participated fully in classes, and became a source of encouragement to other residents.

After being accepted into our long-term program, Anna* chose to leave in a way that moved us all. She planned a full thank-you celebration for the staff, cooking a meal, baking a cake, and reading aloud a handwritten letter of gratitude. It was a powerful reminder of why we do this work and a beautiful reflection of the healing that is possible.

In her words:

“Refuge is a place where God looks down and smiles at all the women… If God was here on Earth in the flesh, I know for me personally, thank you is not enough to encompass what Refuge for Women has done in my life.”

As one of Unseen’s trusted partners, Refuge for Women provided Anna* with safety, trauma-informed care, and a path toward long-term restoration. Her journey is a powerful reminder of the healing that becomes possible when survivors are met with consistent love and support.
